Join us to talk about what we can do in the Black Lives Matter movement as white folks! LSURJ (Louisville showing up for racial justice) is part of a national network of white folks organizing other white folks for racial justice. Through action, conversation and creativity we work to dismantle institutional and personal racism in our community.
If you want to know more join us for this new member gathering and learn how you can plug into the Black Lives Matter movement of Louisville as a white ally. We will go over our history, what our mutual interest is in collective liberation that begins with black liberation, and how we move as accomplices in the movement for black lives in accountable and effective ways.
The space is fully accessible, kid friendly meeting space with folks assigned to help entertain the kiddos. Questions, comments or concerns please email LouisvilleSURJ@gmail.com or FB Message us.
“The battle is and always has been a battle for the hearts and minds of white people in this country. The fight against racism is our issue. It’s not something that we’re called on to help people of color with. We need to become involved with it as if our lives depended on it because really, in truth, they do.”
